Eligibility Criteria

The airdrop was distributed to users who met one or more of the following six sets of eligibility criteria:

OP Mainnet Users

  1. OP Mainnet Users:
    • Address bridged to OP Mainnet from L1 before June 23, 2021, OR
    • Used OP Mainnet for at least 1 day and made a transaction using an app after June 23, 2021.
  2. Repeat OP Mainnet Users:
    • Met OP Mainnet User criteria AND made at least one transaction across four or more distinct weeks.

Active Ethereum Participants

  1. DAO Voters:
    • Voted on or authored at least one onchain proposal OR at least two offchain Snapshot proposals.
  2. Multisig Signers:
    • Signer on a multisig that has executed at least 10 transactions.
  3. Gitcoin Donors (on L1):
    • Made an onchain donation via Gitcoin.
  4. Users Priced Out of Ethereum:
    • Bridged to another chain but continued making transactions on Ethereum at an average rate of 2 per week.

Overlap Bonus

  • Addresses qualifying for 4, 5, or 6 categories received additional OP tokens, up to 27,534.98 OP for addresses qualifying for all six categories.

Filtering Criteria

  • Addresses needed to have been active on Ethereum for at least 1 day.
  • Sybil farmers, exploiters, centralized exchanges, and bot accounts were filtered out.
  • Addresses had to have made a transaction after January 1, 2019.

Additional Information

  • All unclaimed OP tokens from Airdrop #1 were automatically distributed to eligible addresses on September 15, 2023.
  • 14% of the total OP token supply is reserved for future airdrops.
  • Further filtering removed 17,000 Sybil addresses, reclaiming 14M OP, which was redistributed to eligible participants.
